Since opening in 2014 The Proud Sow has established itself as one of London’s premier butchers. We use only whole carcass animals from small, low impact free range farms. Choosing each animal on a weekly basis has allowed us to ensure quality without compromise. Working with farmers and small wholesalers to develop relationships we have created a sustainable and reciprocal supply chain. We pride ourselves on customer service and customer satisfaction and we look forward to serving you soon.

  • Beef

    Our beef is from low yield farms and is pasture fed. Our farmers allow the animals to roam feeding themselves by foraging on hedgerow and grass. Through these practises their animals grow naturally over longer periods of time to produce beef full of flavour ready for us to dry age for around 40 days.

Owner and butcher. Oli started The Proud Sow in 2014 with a desire to return exceptional meat to the high street. Promising to use only whole carcass animals raised in the UK he ensures high standards and that traditional methods and techniques are kept alive.


The Proud Sow’s first apprentice. Josh has been with us from day one. Now with 5 years experience he has become a gifted and passionate butcher able to pass on his knowledge to a new set of learners in the trade.


The Proud Sow’s second apprentice Ben started in the Crofton Park shop and stayed for 18months. He then moved on to another butchery in Essex before being tempted back to help run Dulwich. With a back ground in catering Ben really enjoys cooking unusual cuts and experimenting in the kitchen.


Our award winning apprentice Harvey has shown exceptional skills in learning the trade. With a focus on customer service Harvey is always ready and willing to serve.


The latest to join the team. Herbie has made a great start in learning the skills needed to become a butcher. With an interest in cooking and understanding where all our meat comes from we’re happy to have him on board.
